Welcome to the Summer 2 topic and ideas page! The theme for this half term is “BEARS!” This is a lovely topic as there are many stories, songs and activities that can be completed and that should be great for interesting and motivating your children! Maybe starting off with Bear breakfast!! Here is a short song including the sign for “teddy bear” to get you in the mood ….

As always, the internet is fantastic for getting ideas for arts and craft ideas related to any theme. Pinterest, Google images, The imagination tree are all places where you could type in the topic and get ideas back! Most craft activities can be adapted … for example, a piece of card can easily be cut into a circle if you don’t have paper plates to make the bear mask. I have attached some bear related Communicate in print symbols for you to do some matching and reading. And here are two share codes for Help Kidz Learn all about Bears …. GDCMQC and WAXHUD

There are many ways you could use sensory aspects to stories and explorations about bears. Both “We’re going on a bear hunt” and “Goldilocks are especially great stories to explore in a sensory way … have fun! Touching fur, smelling grass, tasting porridge … so many options!
