3H Design Technology Activities

Monday afternoon is timetabled options for Key Stage 3. Pupils from 3H enjoyed a carousel of Design Technology activities.
In Food Technology we looked at healthy eating and classifying foods into the correct groups. Using plastic knives and Play Doh, we practiced knife skills, observing the claw and bridge method for safely using a knife. 
In Design Technology we designed a proto-type phone and key holder which will be manufactured in the workshop using power-tools and industrial machinery, observing full safety protocols.
In Textiles, we explored woven, knitted and felted fabrics and then created our own printed textiles, which we then identified as possible household or fashion items we could find on the high street.
