This week in Maple class as part of our gross motor sessions, we have been taking the opportunity to explore the outdoor learning area. This included a scavenger hunt to find a variety of different leaves found around the area and using the wheelbarrows to transport them to specific places. We liked the balance ropes and used our core strength to get from one side of the ropes to the other. We then used the rope swings to push from the tyres. We counted how many seconds we could do this for. Alongside these activities we used the instruments to do some water drumming from all the recent rainfall.
Following on from this, we spent time in the outdoor area using the mazes and footpaths to re-enact the story ‘We’re going on a bear hunt.’ We used the outdoor instruments to make the story even more exciting, what a fantastic morning we had! Well done Maple class!
