KS2 year 5 and 6 went on their residential last week. They all thoroughly enjoyed it. It started on Wednesday 12th June where they headed to Blackpool Zoo to spend a day looking at the animals. The group saw a new baby chimpanzee, penguins, sealions, elephants, lions, tigers and lots, lots more. They enjoyed a McDonalds Tea on their way to Coldwell Activity Centre. Following this was their first overnight stay at Coldwell Inn. On Thursday, the day started with a lovely continental breakfast before heading off to Gulliver’s World. At Gulliver’s World pupils enjoyed thrill seeking rides including the pirate ship, rapids and a rollercoaster. They also liked relaxing rides including the river cruise, boating lake and classic car ride. After Gulliver's World pupils and staff headed back to Coldwell Activity Centre for a BBQ tea and another overnight stay.
On Friday pupils spent the morning using some of the facilities at Coldwell Inn including the outside gym, table tennis and air hockey as well as inflatable archery. Then the group headed off to Towneley park for the final part of the residential for a picnic lunch, play on the park and an ice lolly.
Everybody had a fantastic time! Well done year 5 and 6 and a huge thank you to the staff who attended to support this amazing experience.
